A String Orchestra for Adults
KMSO -- is for players of Grade 2 standard and upwards that gives the opportunity to play in an ensemble with like minded people who would like to develop their potential and have fun playing music.
CREATE AND PERFORM WITH THE KMSO
Musical Director Claire Grocock had a vision for the adults she taught violin and viola to, to form a string orchestra taking players of lower grades so they could gain experience of playing with others and gain confidence in their playing ability. From this the KMSO was born and from the first rehearsal in September 2018 with a dozen players this has now increased to 30 dedicated players who thoroughly enjoy their rehearsals and have fun with music! Choosing music suitable to the level and interesting to all sections is key to developing technique, ability and therefore increasing confidence.
